Fountain Tavern
About This Spot
Stepping into Fountain Tavern is like slipping into a beloved neighborhood hideaway, where the familiar hum of chatter blends effortlessly with the clatter of pool balls and the quiet buzz of dart boards in play. Nestled just a little off the main roads of Oshkosh, it carries a quiet charm that invites you to slow down and settle in, whether you’re looking to unwind after a busy day or linger over an easy evening with friends.
The atmosphere here is comfortably unpretentious—a few well-worn booths and a bar that seems to remember every regular by name. The pace is gentle but alive, buzzed along by friendly faces behind the bar who know their craft, pouring drinks with just the right touch, and by the easy camaraderie of patrons who make space for newcomers as naturally as they do for longtime locals. It’s one of those places where laughter feels authentic, and conversations float between tables like old friends catching up across the years.
While the drink selection leans into Wisconsin tradition with dark beers and familiar favorites, there’s more than just the pour to savor here. The kitchen quietly turns out comforting fare that feels as warm as the surroundings—a true companion to a cold pint or a well-mixed old fashioned. The occasional lively event, like a festival centered around sweet corn and music, adds a beloved layer of community spirit to the already inviting scene.
Fountain Tavern isn’t just a stop on the map—it’s part of the fabric of its neighborhood. Whether you’re drawn by the nostalgia of a historic Oshkosh gathering spot, the simplicity of a well-made pizza shared between friends, or the friendly nods from bartenders who make you feel welcome through the small rituals of their craft, this is a space that quietly celebrates everyday connections in a way that’s hard to find elsewhere.

Its just your typical dive bar. Has gambling machines a pool table and two dart boards. The service was good and the staff friendly and helpful. Its a bit off the beaten path but thats not necessarily a negative thing

Another Oshkosh historic establishment! My hubby just about grew up in this bar and it's owned by a wonderful gentleman! Fountainfest is a great party held the first weekend in September featuring plenty of laughs, raffles, free sweet corn, live music and did I mention plenty of laughs?! Stop in any day of the week for great pizza and great service!

Excellent atmosphere and great bartenders! A real Wisconsin bar! Drink prices are right on par and so is the personality of the bar.

Small neighborhood pub off 41, warm friendly bartender gal was great, made a tasty old fashioned and cooked up on the homemade pizza's while only 12" was perfect for 2. If it was in our town we could become regulars.

It's the place to celebrate! Birthdays, retirements, a monster sturgeon catch, a master buck, or game time! Time to have fun with a fun loving owner and staff!

Place was very clean. They have a game called DJ trivia which was a hoot lot of fun. The pizza nothing to write home about mostly burnt but not too bad. People were especially friendly wonderful place great experience. Just don't eat the pizza
